Mrs. Mariana DURLESTEANU, Minister of Finance, participated within the negotiation process of the 10 millions dollars USA Credit, offered by the World Bank, within the Poverty Reduction Support Financing (PRSC) II project to support the economic reform program of the Government of the Republic of Moldova.

Lawrence Bouton, Program Coordinator from the World Bank mentioned that this credit will represent the second one from the series of three, PRSC, proposed to support poverty reduction, during a period of three years, within the frame of the programme of the Government of Republic of Moldova to accelerate the economic growth and poverty reduction for investment climate amelioration, improvement of the efficiency and administration of public expenditures and fortification of social protection systems.

The documents, accepted by both sides, within the negotiations attended at the World Bank Office, Chisinau, on April the 3th, 2008, focused especially, on preliminary actions and indicators of PRSC II, as well as on implementation control. The parties disused on PRSC policies matrix, the letter regarding development policies, Financing Agreement and the actions which have to be performed by discussed the Government of the Republic of Moldova to contract the PRSC III.

After the approval by the Executive Board of Directors, the program document for Poverty Reduction Support Credit, and signed letter regarding development policies will be available for public via external website of World Bank: www.worldbank.org.
