The representatives of the Ministry of Finance will have several meetings with the IMF Delegation, held in Chisinau during the period of May 7-21 The IMF Delegation, being in Moldova for evaluation of program results for finance in Moldova, had today, March 7th, a meeting with Mrs. Mariana Durlesteanu, the Minister of Finance. The work program stipulates the evaluation of the budgetary situation for 2007, first Quarter of 2008 ant the forecasts, including quarterly, for the rest of the 2008. Mrs. Mariana Durlesteanu, in the context of continuing availability for future collaboration with the IMF, mentioned that it is desired the intensification of bilateral cooperation for implementing macroeconomic policies and structural reforms, for registering an improvement in economic growth and having a higher country rating. Mr. Johan Mathisen , the Permanent Representative of the IMF, analyzing the situation for the first quarter of the current year, gave a positive appreciation for the fulfillment of the proposed objectives in the program sustained through the mechanism of finance for economic development and poverty reduction. Thereby, the objectives for the next month of 2008 were established. In the second part of the meeting, Mrs. Nina Lupan, the Vice-minister of Finance, has discussed about the control of expenses, treasury system and bringing the account balance to zero, the debt of local authority, the budget of local authorities and their execution and also the finance of central authorities budget. In the next days, the representatives of the Ministry of Finance will have several meetings at technical level with the IMF Delegation.
